HARTSTONE HOUSE
Hartstone House is a former farmhouse dating back over 200 years, set within a beautifully secluded location and left neglected for many years. BASE undertook a comprehensive renovation, stripping the property back to its structural shell before carrying out extensive damp-proofing works to floors and walls, replacing structural timbers throughout, and rebuilding the home from the inside out. With thoughtful input into the design and finishes, the project balanced the character of the original building with modern functionality, creating a space that feels both timeless and comfortable. To support contemporary living, BASE installed underfloor heating throughout, along with a new sewage treatment plant and stormwater soakaway. As with many heritage renovations, unforeseen structural challenges were uncovered during the works. These were addressed swiftly and professionally, allowing the project to be completed and handed over on schedule. The result is a beautifully restored home that respects its history while meeting the demands of modern living.
